Back to Previous Page Senate Democratic Leader Prusi Announces Deputy Chief of Staff, Legal Counsel
LANSING-Senate Democratic Leader Mike Prusi (D-Ishpeming) announced today that Matt Kurta and Mark Burton will serve as his Deputy Chief of Staff and Caucus Legal Counsel, respectively. “Both of these individuals are talented professionals who will help us achieve our goal of improving Michigan,” said Prusi. “For over six years I’ve worked with Matt and continue to be impressed by his legislative knowledge and dedication to the district and our state as a whole. Mark has experience working on some of the most important legislative issues we’ve faced and I’m confident his expertise will be a valuable asset to the Legislature.” Kurta has worked for Prusi in a number of capacities since 2003, including serving as his Chief of Staff and Legislative Aide. Before becoming Legal Counsel, Burton served as Director for the successful Cure Michigan stem cell research ballot proposal and Legislative Counsel for the Michigan Association for Justice. He holds degrees from Northern Michigan University and Michigan State University College of Law. # # # |
